Baby

Baby

Baby by Adaobi Rachel

Baby,
You have a toddler’s foot,
The kind that looks like you just learnt to walk,
Your body is a work of art
Perfect, every inch of it
The kind that fits incredibly
Especially when you are close.

Baby,
You have a tiny palm-kernel eyes
The kind that dims easily
Like you are about to sleep
Your body is a work of art
Beautiful, every inch of it.

Baby,
You have long lean fingers
The kind that moves sexily to its own motion
Your voice is the sound of music
Your breath is the cloak of warmth
Your body is a work of art
A masterpiece.
